Indications/Uses
Induction & maintenance of general anaesth.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Induction Adult Up to 5% v/v w/ O2 or O2 & N2O. Childn Up to 7% v/v. Maintenance: 0.5-3% v/v w/ or w/o N2O.
Contraindications
Known or suspected susceptibility to malignant hyperthermia.
Special Precautions
Raised ICP.
Adverse Reactions
Cardioresp depression, hypotension, malignant hyperthermia, agitation (especially in childn), laryngospasm, increased cough & salivation, acute renal failure. Post-op: Shivering, nausea & vomiting.
Drug Interactions
Adrenaline or other sympathomimetics. Enhance effect of atracurium. Toxicity may be increased by INH & alcohol.
